Terms and Conditions

1 Applications are open to all artists residing in Australia. Unfortunately due to the parameters of the exhibition we will not be accepting submissions from international artists.
1 Applications are to be submitted via online form only.
2 All fields marked with (*) are required before submissions are received.
3 A confirmation email will be sent to your nominated email address once your submission has been received.
4 If you are experiencing any issues submitting your application or require further explanation about the theme or exhibition please contact art@galleryred.com.au or phone the gallery on (02) 9692 0030.
5 All artists will be contacted as to the success of their proposal by Monday June 16.
6 All applications will be reviewed by the Director and Curator of Gallery Red who will make a final decision on exhibiting artists.
7 Gallery Management reserves the right to accept or reject any application. It is the intention of Gallery Red to present a balance of genres and types of artistic expression. This means that not all applications will be successful. This is due to many factors, and should not be taken as a rejection, or a judgment on the quality of your work.
8 All decisions regarding the success of applications are final.
1 Selection of Works
1.1 Artists selected to participate in 31 Days will be sent a set of guidelines outlining the 3-month process of the 31 Days exhibition.
1.2 Work for this exhibition is to commence on July 1st and continue every day until July 31st.
1.3 In accepting a place in this exhibition artists are obligating to fulfil the requirements of the exhibition by creating a piece of work every day for the 31 days of July that is based around the exhibition theme and their proposed work.

2 Submission of Works
2.1 All works must be clean and presentable. Gallery management reserves the right to refuse any artworks that do not comply.
2.2 Works on canvas or paper should be framed, with the exception of stretched canvas works, and have D rings and wire or cord placed on the back ready to hang. D rings must be even, and should be placed on the back, 5 – 10cm from the top of the work.
2.3 All works must have labels on the back, clearly indicating artists name, work title, price and media.
2.4 All artists must complete and sign a consignment form on delivery of artworks. This must include the full retail price including GST and gallery commission for each stock item.
2.5 Limited short-term storage may be available at the Gallery. Please confirm with gallery staff if you require storage before or after the exhibition.
2.6 Works are to be delivered to the gallery by 1pm Wednesday August 27.
3 Fee
3.1 A participation fee of $55 (inc GST) is required for all selected artists. This fee covers the running of the gallery and promotion of the exhibition.
4. Payment and commission for works sold
4.1 A commission of 40% is taken on all sales from the 31 Days exhibitions.
4.2 Works sold during the 31 Days exhibitions will be paid within 14 days of the end of the exhibition.
4.3 Works held by Gallery Red from booked exhibitions are held on loan. Artists will be invoiced by the gallery for the sale commission. It is the artists responsibility to issue invoices for money earned from works sold (excluding commission) and supply gallery management with all necessary information regarding ABN, GST or business status.
5. Publicity
5.1 Images of consignment items may from time to time be used in order to promote the gallery and exhibition
5.2 Gallery Red reserves the right to reasonable use of images of works. Artist must allow reproduction of their artwork for the purpose of advertising and promotion of Gallery Red and 31 Days. If required please discuss further details with gallery management.
6. Exhibition opening night and collection of unsold works
6.1 The exhibition will open at Gallery Red on Friday September 5, 6-8pm.
6.2 Beverages, catering and bar staff will be provided on the night.
6.3 At the close of the exhibition unsold works will be available for collection on Tuesday September 30 between 9-5pm.
7. Insurance
7.1 While all care is taken by gallery staff and management to ensure the safety of works held on the premises, Gallery Red does not insure the artists’ artworks. Please take adequate steps to ensure your work is covered.
8. General
