Janet Haslett Biography

Janet Haslett makes work that is exploratory, experimental and experiential, presenting research-based projects through the parameters of drawing, painting and installation. Her works investigate ideas about representation, with a particular interest in the unusual and overlooked in the everyday, and in the many ways we create, record and present reality, pictorially, culturally and historically. While landscape is her greatest inspiration, she has also produced projects inspired by historic photographic and artefact archives, archaeological sites and Japanese dry and stroll gardens.
