I’ve been reading Power Failure: the inside story of climate politics under Rudd and Gillard, which the author Philip Chubb describes as “a tragic era in Australian politics”. Tragedies of lost opportunities, flaws in leadership and waste of the dedication and work of so many. Chapter 3 is “Squandering consensus”.
In the vacuum created by confusion and lack of communication, the climate sceptics had a field day.
This work is about the consensus before the squandering. It looks embryonic. It has cracks is it already and for once this effect is intentional.
